Growth through art of a specific character

This section consists of my growth as an artist through various drawings of a specific character. This character is Imogen Temult, a character created, played, and voiced by Laura Bailey in the Dungeons and Dragons show “Critical Role.” Though in some pieces she is joined by other characters, the focus of this section is how my art has grown via my drawings of her specifically.

Context

What is Critical Role? “Critical Role, our show, is a long-running web series in which our group of nerdy ass voice actors use tabletop roleplaying game mechanics as the medium to build a longform improvisational story in the vast and rich fantasy world of Exandria. The players are guided through the world by Matthew Mercer, an incredibly experienced Game Master. Essentially, this story is like a four-hour long improvised episode of television, with each campaign focusing on its own set of characters within the world.” (Critical Role Website)

She made her voice acting debut as Kid Trunks in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Z and has since voiced Henrietta in Gunslinger Girl, Emily / Glitter Lucky in Glitter Force, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the title character in the Funimation dub of Shin-Chan, and Maka Albarn in Soul Eater. She is a cast member of the web series Critical Role, playing Vex'ahlia ("Vex"), Jester Lavorre, and Imogen Temult, among others.” (Wikipedia)

This is the official character art of Imogen by Hannah Friederichs, an artist who is one of my biggest inspirations. Since she is a fictional character, all my drawings are based on these designs, as well as verbal descriptions from Laura Bailey. Other inspirations of mine include Jade Quarze and Cole Alexander

Who is Imogen Temult?Imogen Temult is a human sorcerer and a member of Bells Hells [Critical Role’s third Dungeons and Dragons campaign.] She is played by Laura Bailey.”

I connect with this character a lot, as even though Laura Bailey has stated it was unintentional, Imogen displays a lot of traits of Autism throughout Campaign Three, and that resonates with me as I am Autistic. She has been a comfort character of mine which means I have drawn her a LOT over the past few years.
